The Port Authority prepares the quay of La Galeona for the arrival of the Concasa cranes

The APBC takes a step forward and tenders the work for the execution of a rail track so that Feeder cranes can operate in the New Container Terminal

The Cadiz Bay Port Authority (APBC) is going to invest 1.1 million euros in the adaptation of the La Galeona quay of the New Container Terminal so that Concasa can move the cranes it currently has in the Reina Sofia quay.

The work consists of executing a taxiway for the Feeder type cranes, which are the ones that operate in the current terminal, formed by two parallel rails separated 50 feet (15.24 meters) of type A-100 mounted on galvanized steel plates and fixed by means of clips. The project is completed with the implementation of windproof anchor pins and grounding facilities.

The track to be executed will be parallel to the one designed for the Super Post Panamax cranes (parallel rails separated 100 feet, 30.48 meters, type A-120), with whose load criteria the New Terminal was designed and whose front rail is already executed.

The execution period is 4 months, coinciding with the construction of the paving of the esplanade and urbanization of the access to the New Container Terminal in Cadiz.
