Cadiz presents its possibilities as a home port for cruises to 10 shipping companies in the United States.

The Port Authority of the Bay of Cadiz (PABC) will visit next week a dozen cruise lines, among which are the largest in the world, in a trade mission organized by Extenda to the United States in order to advance the goal of converting Cadiz into a base port for cruises and present the brand Cruise Cadiz. Accompanying the PABC in this embassy are the Provincial Tourism Board of Cadiz, the Association of Merchants Cadiz Shopping Centre, the Association of Tourist Companies of Cadiz (AETC), Cadiship, Torre Tavira, Martinete del Guadalquivir, Torrestrella, Cadiz Guide JGR, Novojet Vela and Hotel Cadiz Plaza. The work agenda, organised by Extenda through the Integrated Territorial Investment (ITI) for the province of Cadiz, will allow them to hold meetings with the top managers of itineraries, excursions, operations and development of the world’s most important shipping companies based in the United States. In addition to working meetings in the headquarters of the shipping companies, three presentations will be held aimed at industry executives, tour operators, tourism companies and the press. In these receptions, the delegation will present Cadiz as the essence of Andalusia, as it appears in the claim of the new brand of marketing of the Port of Cadiz for cruise traffic, Cadiz Cruise. Between Monday and Friday, the expedition will travel to Seattle, Los Angeles and Miami, where it will have meetings with Windstar, Holland America/Seabourn, Paul Gauguin Cruises, Crystal Cruises, Princess Cruises, Seadream Yacht Club, Royal Caribbean Cruises, Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings, Carnival Cruise Line and Ritz Carlton Yacht Collection. In addition, Extenda has closed a meeting with Access Cruise, the new collaborative platform for destinations and shipping lines and with Tourist Office of Spain in Miami. The mission will be co-financed with funds from the European Union, through the Andalusia 2014-2020 ERDF Operational Programme, endowed with a Community contribution of 80%.
