In a moving ceremony held last Thursday, September 26, at the iconic Baluarte de los Mártires, Cádiz-Port presented its Cádiz-Port Award to Emilio Medina Reborio, an undisputed leader in the maritime sector in the province of Cádiz, in recognition of his extensive career spanning more than 60 years dedicated to the port sector.

The event was attended by authorities, representatives of the port community, and members of the honoree’s family. Among those present were Daniel Macpherson, President of Cádiz-Port, Teófila Martínez Saiz, President of the Port Authority of the Bay of Cádiz (APBC), Mercedes Colombo Roquette, Delegate of the Andalusian Regional Government in Cádiz, Blanca del Pilar Flores Cueto, Subdelegate of the Government, Juan José Ortiz Quevedo, First Vice President of the Provincial Council of Cádiz, and Carlos Lucero Román, Councilor for Sports, Archives, Entrepreneurship and Training, Blue Economy, and Industry.

During the tribute, the tireless work of Emilio Medina and his commitment to the development of the Port of Cádiz were highlighted. The president of the APBC, Teófila Martínez, representing the port community, praised Medina as an exemplary businessman from Cádiz. For his part, the president of Cádiz-Port, Daniel Macpherson, thanked Medina for his dedication and vision, which have left an indelible mark on the Cádiz maritime sector.

Emilio Medina, visibly moved, expressed his gratitude for the recognition, dedicating the tribute to his family and all those who have shared his professional career.

Born in Cádiz, Emilio Medina began his professional career at the young age of 14. His connection with the maritime sector was quickly consolidated, first working for several companies in the sector and later as an entrepreneur. In 1989, Medina founded Emilio Medina Reborio, Ship Agent, and in 1995, he created CADISHIP, S.L., a maritime and logistics agency that, under his leadership, has diversified its activities and established itself as one of the leading companies in the region.

Throughout his career, Medina has been a key figure in the port community of Cádiz. He has held important positions in industry associations such as the Cádiz Association of Freight Forwarders, Shippers and Similar Companies (ATEIA), the Provincial Association of Maritime Companies (APEMAR), and the APBC Board of Directors. Furthermore, his company, CADISHIP, S.L., has received multiple awards, including the CÁDIZ Tourism Promotion Award in 2011 and the Hércules Award in 2004. p>

With 62 years of experience, Medina has left an indisputable legacy in the port of Cádiz. Among his most notable achievements is the founding of CADISHIP, S.L., which has evolved over nearly 30 years to offer a wide range of services such as consignment, chartering, customs, and consulting. Under his leadership, the company has obtained important quality certifications, such as ISO 9001:2015 and certification as an Authorized Economic Operator (AEO) since 2012.

Throughout his career, Emilio Medina has represented Cádiz in various national and international institutions. Between 1997 and 1998, he was President of the National Maritime Commission of the Federation of Freight Forwarders and has been a member of the APBC Board of Directors on several occasions. He has also served on the Economic and Social Council of Cádiz and has served as 2nd Vice President of the Cádiz Chamber of Commerce.
