Cádiz-Port and the Provincial Council of Cádiz have signed an important collaboration agreement with the aim of boosting the economic growth of the province’s maritime-port sector. Daniel MacPherson, President of Cádiz-Port, and Germán Beardo, Fourth Vice President of the Provincial Council, formalized this agreement, which marks a significant milestone for the association and the port development of the Bay of Cádiz.
This agreement, initially valid for one year and extendable to four, focuses on promoting training and job creation, supported by a contribution of €70,000 from the Provincial Council’s Institute for Employment and Socioeconomic and Technological Development (IEDT). This investment will allow the IEDT to become an institutional partner in Cádiz-Port, promoting commercial and outreach activities both nationally and internationally.
Daniel MacPherson hailed the agreement as a “historic milestone” for Cádiz-Port. He highlighted the association’s three main strategies: direct trade missions to other countries, reverse missions to attract major investments and clients to the province, and the national promotion of Cádiz’s business community. “This agreement will allow us to connect the demand for qualified personnel with the local labor supply, avoiding the need to rely solely on foreign labor,” explained MacPherson, in a context of growing demand with the new container terminal at the Port of Cádiz.
With the addition of the IEDT as an institutional partner, Cádiz-Port strengthens its capacity for action and coordination in the port sector. Germán Beardo emphasized that this strategic alliance will allow it to establish new training options, attract investment, and create jobs, while addressing the needs of the sector in the Bay of Cádiz.
Cádiz-Port will continue to collaborate closely with the Provincial Council in organizing activities, events, and promotional workshops aimed at promoting the internationalization of Cádiz companies, attracting investment, and strengthening the competitiveness of the Port of Cádiz. All of this with a focus on technological innovation and professional training, to ensure that the port community of the Bay of Cádiz remains at the forefront nationally and internationally.
