The Port of Cadiz participates in the Barcelona International Boat Show

he Port Authority visits this fair for the first time to promote its potential in nautical sports traffic

Monday, 09 October 2018. The Port Authority of the Bay of Cadiz will participate from tomorrow October 10 in the International Boat Show of Barcelona, which is held until Sunday in the Port Vell of the Catalan capital.

It is the first time that the port of Cadiz attends this event, which reaches its 57th edition, and does so hand in hand with Suncruise Andalusia and Puertos del Estado with the aim of presenting the potential of the Bay of Cadiz in the nautical traffic sports.

The commitment to nautical sports development, included in the Strategic Plan of the APBC, is materialized in 7 facilities and a Sailing Technology Center.

Specifically, there are four facilities in Cadiz (Real Club Náutico, Elcano, Puerto América and Viento de Levante) and another four in El Puerto de Santa María (Real Club Náutico, Puerto Sherry, La Rampa and the Sailing Technology Centre).

There are a total of 2,371 moorings granted by the Bay of Cadiz Port Authority. The seven Andalusian Port Authorities have a total of 5,484 sports berths, which means that Cádiz accounts for 43 percent of Andalusian capacity.

The strategic approach in which the Port Authority works together with the concessionaires of the nautical sports activity to improve this traffic pursues the following objectives:

    o Promote socio-economic growth
    o Prioritize environmental quality
o Improve the integration of the Port with the city
o Improve the quality in the management of services
o Contribute to improving the sustainable tourism and leisure offer
o Promote and disseminate nautical and the use of port spaces by bringing ports closer to society.
